Job Summary

The Fraunhofer IZM is seeking an IT Support Specialist to join the IT Management team, ensuring the reliable, stable, secure, and compliant operation of the institute's IT environment. This role is crucial for enabling smooth workflows across the entire institute. Day-to-day responsibilities include providing IT support (first and second level) primarily at the Berlin headquarters, as well as remotely for Cottbus and Dresden locations, acting as the interface between departments and central IT services. You will be responsible for the provision, configuration, monitoring, and administration of hardware and software in both office and laboratory settings, including managing operating systems, standard software, and executing software rollouts. The ideal candidate has completed an IT infrastructure education or equivalent, possesses solid knowledge of IT hardware, networking fundamentals, and practical experience in user and second-level support. Strong German language skills are required, and good English skills are beneficial.
