The Federal Institute of Hydrology (BfG) is seeking a Laboratory Technician specializing in Chemistry or Biology to join the Radiology and Water Monitoring division in Koblenz. This is a crucial, part-time position (20 hours/week), temporary until December 31, 2026, focused on ensuring the sustainability and performance of federal waterways. Day-to-day responsibilities involve independently conducting specialized radiochemistry laboratory work, including monitoring federal waterways for radionuclides in water, suspended matter, and sediment according to the Radiation Protection Act. The role requires executing quality control comparison analyses, supporting sample documentation, and contributing to quality management. The ideal candidate must have a completed professional training as a chemical laboratory technician or equivalent qualification, with fundamental knowledge of inorganic chemistry and experience using evaluation and standard software being highly desirable.
