Job Summary
The Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) is seeking multiple IT Security Specialists to join their team in Bonn, focusing on digital identities and electronic trust services. In this role, you will contribute to securing digital processes by developing technical guidelines, conducting security analyses of products and solutions, and supporting the integration of secure identification and authentication components. You will also maintain a test lab for prototyping and actively participate in national and European standardization efforts. This position offers the opportunity to shape Germany's digital future, work with cutting-edge cybersecurity technologies like digital signatures and the EUDI Wallet, and present findings at conferences. The ideal candidate will have a background in IT security, strong analytical skills, and a collaborative, solution-oriented approach.
Required Skills
Education
Bachelor's degree or equivalent (FH-Diplom) in Computer Science, Technical Computer Science, IT Security, Physics, Mathematics, Communications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, IT Management, Administrative Informatics, Business Informatics, or a comparable relevant field with an IT/technical focus.
Experience
- Knowledge in cybersecurity, cryptography, or electronic identities and trust services
- Ideally, good knowledge of the conception and development of innovative IT solutions and associated security analysis, especially regarding architecture and service security
- Practical experience in web technologies (Python, JavaScript, SOAP/XML, JSON, SAML, WebAuthn, OAuth 2.0, or OpenID Connect) is desirable depending on the area of focus

- Willingness to undergo an extended security clearance check (SÜG § 9). Willingness to participate in further training and occasional business trips. For foreign educational qualifications, proof of equivalence with a German degree from the Central Office for Foreign Education (ZAB) is required.
