This role is a crucial position within the Cultural Office and Cultural Historical Museums of the City of Bochum, focusing on financial oversight and securing external funding. The specialist will be responsible for the full lifecycle of budget management, including monitoring and controlling subsidies for municipal subsidiaries and grants for the independent cultural scene. Key daily tasks involve budget planning, preparation of annual financial statements, developing internal controlling systems, and implementing new funding guidelines, particularly concerning complex state and municipal regulations. A significant part of the job includes researching and acquiring third-party funding (grants from state, federal, EU, and foundations), preparing detailed applications, and managing verification of use. The ideal candidate must possess strong analytical, conceptual, and communication skills, coupled with professional experience in Controlling and NKF (New Municipal Finance), making this an attractive opportunity to actively shape the cultural landscape of the Ruhr area.

Required Skills

Education

Required: Qualification for Career Group 2, First Entry Level of General Administrative Service (Bachelor of Laws/Arts or Diploma in Administration/Business Administration (FH)); OR Successfully completed Administrative Course II or Employee Course II; OR Bachelor of Arts/Science degree in Economics.

Experience

  • Professional experience in Controlling and NKF
  • Initial professional experience after completing a university degree in Economics (for tariff employees)
  • Experience working with SAP software (Ideally)
