Job Summary

This leadership role involves managing and executing specialized environmental and conservation projects, focusing on nature and species protection. Day-to-day tasks include conducting faunistic surveys, preparing expert faunistic reports, and performing special species protection assessments. The Head of Department will also be responsible for mapping biotope types, creating impact and compensation balances, and planning/implementing compensation measures, particularly for biotope and species conservation (CEF measures). Key requirements include a Master's degree in Biology or Environmental Engineering (or equivalent experience), deep knowledge of nature and species protection laws, and practical experience in mapping. The role requires excellent German language skills (C1) and proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS/QGIS) and MS Office, making it ideal for a motivated expert seeking to shape a sustainable future within a leading engineering network.

Required Skills

Education

Master’s degree or equivalent in Biology, Environmental Engineering, or comparable field; alternatively, Bachelor’s degree with relevant professional experience.

Experience

  • At least 5 years of relevant professional experience (if holding a Bachelor's degree)
  • Practical experience in faunistic and biotope mapping
  • Professional experience in nature and species protection
  • Experience in preparing environmental reports (e.g., landscape management plans, Natura2000 assessments)
