Job Summary
This PhD position, starting around July 2026, is integrated into the prestigious DFG-funded CRC/TRR 225 consortium, focusing on advanced biofabrication methods. The successful candidate will primarily work with hiPSC-cardiomyocytes and -endothelial cells to create a vascularized, functional human heart ventricle model complete with acellular heart valves. Day-to-day tasks involve optimizing biomaterials to enhance vascularization, establishing 3D printing techniques to integrate complex main vasculature, and developing microfluidic systems to test bioink suitability. Key qualifications include a Master’s degree in fields such as Tissue Engineering, Material Science, or Molecular Medicine, strong teamwork skills, and high motivation.
