Job Summary

This role is for a Hydrodynamics Engineer specializing in Wastewater Networks, working for one of Germany's major water and wastewater utility providers. The primary responsibility involves performing complex hydraulic simulations of sewer networks, including hydrodynamic and pollutant load calculations, and creating or updating detailed network models. A core function is the technical coordination and oversight of General Drainage Plans (GEPs), requiring the preparation of documentation, participation in procurement processes, and the review of calculation models and concepts. The successful candidate must possess a university degree in engineering or natural sciences, coupled with several years of professional experience in developing GEPs. Deep expertise in open channel hydraulics, rainfall-runoff modeling, and hydraulic simulation is essential to derive rehabilitation needs and advise Asset Management on strategic network development, ensuring the high quality of life in the region is maintained through innovative water management solutions.

Required Skills

Education

University degree in Engineering or Natural Sciences, ideally with specialization in Urban Water Management, Water Management, or Hydraulics

Experience

  • Several years of professional experience in the creation and updating of General Drainage Plans (GEPs)
  • Professional experience in hydrodynamic sewer network simulation and calculation
