Job Summary

This role requires joining a specialized Security Operations Center (SOC) team dedicated to enhancing security across both Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT) environments. The primary focus is on the analysis and management of attack detection systems (SzA infrastructure) and ensuring compliance with relevant legal requirements. Daily responsibilities include managing inventoried assets, conducting risk assessments for critical applications, and coordinating necessary countermeasures through to final functional testing. A core function involves integrating new systems into the existing security infrastructure, developing, and optimizing sophisticated Use Cases and rules to identify potential cyberattacks. You will perform detailed analyses of security events using specialized tools, monitor and evaluate IT/OT security incidents, and correlate cross-platform events. Successful candidates must hold a degree in IT Security, Informatics, or a related technical field, or possess relevant vocational training combined with professional experience in SIEM and Incident Response solutions. The position offers flexible work arrangements and mobile working options within a major water and wastewater utility.

Required Skills

Education

Completed degree in (Business) Informatics, IT Security, Electrical Engineering, or Automation Technology with IT relevance, or comparable studies. Alternatively, completed vocational training (e.g., IT Specialist, IT System Electronics Technician, Electrical Engineer) with relevant further training.

Experience

  • Professional experience in using Security Monitoring tools
  • Experience in the development and operation of SIEM and Incident Response solutions
  • Several years of professional experience (required for vocational training path)
  • Experience working with control systems and PLCs in an OT environment (Advantageous)
