Job Summary

This role is based in Cologne, supporting the North Rhine-Westphalia Construction and Property Management Agency (BLB NRW) on demanding federal construction projects, including educational facilities, administrative buildings, and military installations. The Civil Engineer will work in interdisciplinary project teams, leading or supporting infrastructure and major construction maintenance projects. Key responsibilities include managing planning services according to HOAI (German Fee Structure for Architects and Engineers), overseeing feasibility studies, and controlling external engineering firms and contractors. Candidates must possess a degree in Civil Engineering, expertise in underground construction, and strong knowledge of relevant German construction law (VOB, HOAI, VgV). This position offers high flexibility, up to 60% mobile work, and the opportunity to contribute to climate-neutral building initiatives within one of Europe's largest public real estate portfolios.

Required Skills

Education

Completed university degree (Diploma/Master/Bachelor) in Civil Engineering or a comparable field

Experience

  • Professional experience in Civil Engineering/Underground Construction is highly desirable
  • Experience in service phases 1-9 of HOAI (German Fee Structure for Architects and Engineers) is advantageous
  • Experience in project steering according to AHO No. 9 is advantageous
