Job Summary

As an Electrical Engineer for the Federal Construction division of BLB NRW in Cologne, you will play a pivotal role in managing high-profile real estate projects for the German federal government, including military facilities, administrative buildings, and specialized police sites. Your day-to-day responsibilities involve the technical management and quality assurance of external engineering firms, overseeing complex electrical infrastructure such as medium and low voltage systems, photovoltaic installations, and e-mobility solutions. You will lead cross-functional project teams and ensure compliance with building regulations while contributing to the goal of a climate-neutral federal administration by 2045. This position is particularly attractive due to its high degree of flexibility, offering up to 60% mobile work from anywhere in Germany, a secure public service contract with a competitive salary up to €84,300, and the unique opportunity to work on some of the most specialized and secure construction projects in the country.

Required Skills

Education

University degree (Diploma/Bachelor/Master) in Electrical Engineering, Energy and Building Technology, or a comparable engineering field. Alternatively, state-certified Technician or Master Craftsman in Electrical Engineering with additional experience.

Experience

  • 3+ years of relevant professional experience in electrical engineering
  • Experience in project management, project leadership, or project control
  • Professional experience in managing external planning and engineering offices
  • 6+ years of engineering-level experience required if applying with a Technician or Master Craftsman qualification
