Job Summary

This role involves serving as a Web Developer within the Bavarian State Office for the Environment, specifically focusing on the strategic migration, maintenance, and further development of the thematic section of the Bavarian Energy Atlas (EAB)—a key internet portal for the state government's energy transition initiatives. Day-to-day tasks include implementing the EAB's thematic section using core web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, MySQL), migrating content from legacy systems, and ensuring compliance with standards like accessibility. The successful candidate will collaborate with the EAB Webmaster and the Bavarian Eco-Energy Institute team to execute the technical transition to an optimized, in-house technology stack. Key requirements include a university degree (Bachelor/Dipl. FH) in Informatics or a related field, or relevant vocational training combined with several years of professional web development experience. Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP, alongside good German language skills (B2 level), are essential for success in this project-based role, which offers the prospect of permanent employment upon completion.
