Job Summary

This role involves acting as a Scientific Collaborator and Product Owner to drive the digital transformation of Bavaria's nature conservation IT systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining, coordinating, and supporting the development of specialized applications and the modernization of the existing Geodata infrastructure, ensuring compliance with modern IT standards. Key tasks include conducting requirements analysis, developing detailed technical concepts for applications like Karla.Natur, and managing the agile development process by creating user stories and system test cases. This position requires strong technical understanding of databases and GIS systems, alongside expertise in agile project management and effective communication with IT experts, external contractors, and various administrative bodies. It is a crucial role for someone with a background in environmental science or geoinformatics who is passionate about applying IT solutions to nature conservation.

Required Skills

Education

Master's degree or University Diploma in Landscape Planning, Geography, Geoinformatics, Geoscience, Nature Conservation and Landscape Management, Environmental Information, or a comparable field of study

Experience

  • Practical experience in the coordination, supervision, and execution of IT projects (desirable)
  • Professional experience in the specified area of responsibility (desirable)
  • Experience in requirements management, analysis, and description of work processes (advantageous)
  • Experience in networking and collaboration with software developers
  • Experience with Cadenza from disy and common project and test tools (e.g., Jira) (desirable)

  • This is a fixed-term contract until June 30, 2029, and is a part-time position (50% employment). The role is based in Hof or Augsburg, Germany. Mandatory requirement to state the reference number H/51/29 in the application.
