Job Summary

This senior leadership role involves managing and optimizing the operations of an accredited laboratory responsible for analyzing 63,000 water samples annually from waterworks, sewage treatment plants, and the pipe network, ensuring the highest water quality standards for Berlin. The Head of Laboratory will be responsible for leading approximately 100 employees across multiple sites, ensuring smooth organizational flow, capacity planning, and customer-oriented process optimization. A key focus will be on conceptualizing and implementing laboratory strategies aligned with corporate goals, including the integration of megatrends such as automation, digitalization, and Artificial Intelligence (AI). Candidates must possess a Master's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Food Chemistry, or a related natural/engineering science, coupled with comprehensive professional experience in quantitative analytics of drinking water, wastewater, sludge, and environmental samples, alongside deep expertise in ISO 17025 Quality Management Systems.
