Job Summary
This role is for a Biological Technical Assistant (BTA) to join the Institute for Medical Physics and Biophysics at the Center for Soft Nanoscience, working on a project-limited basis for three years. The BTA will be crucial in maintaining cell cultures, performing cell biology, molecular, and protein biochemical tasks, and ensuring the smooth operation of the lab. Key responsibilities include managing procurement, equipment maintenance, ensuring safety concepts are followed, and mentoring students. Candidates must possess a completed BTA qualification or equivalent, extensive knowledge of molecular biology, biophysics, and protein biochemistry techniques (including PCR, protein expression, Western Blot, and protein purification via HPLC/FPLC), and experience with cell culture. The position offers a challenging and varied role within an international scientific team, providing compensation according to the TV-L public sector tariff.
