Job Summary

Join BEW Berliner Energie und Wärme GmbH as an Intraday Optimizer, playing a crucial role in managing Berlin's energy supply through continuous 24/7 shift operation. This position is vital for the capital's climate-friendly power and heat provision. Day-to-day responsibilities include creating intraday power plant schedules (electricity and heat) using optimization software, adjusting plant deployment based on real-time conditions like electricity prices, heat loads, and network hydraulics, and ensuring compliance with balancing groups for electricity. You will also manage gas contracts and corridors and secure optimized procurement of electrical energy during plant outages. The ideal candidate holds a technical qualification (Technician or Master Craftsman in relevant fields) and possesses a strong understanding of energy trading economics and combined heat and power (CHP) technology.
