Job Summary

Saarland University is seeking a highly motivated Research Associate to join the Chair of Business Administration, specializing in Business Informatics for the Service Sector. This role is crucial for developing cutting-edge, AI-driven systems aimed at optimizing resource utilization and lifecycle processes within circular industrial environments (Circular Economy). Day-to-day responsibilities involve designing and implementing robust data pipelines that integrate sensors, supply chain systems, and digital product passports to achieve real-time operational intelligence. The associate will actively contribute to the scientific community by preparing and publishing research results in collaboration with academic and industry partners, and participating in the development of demonstrators and prototypes. Candidates must hold a Master's degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a related scientific field, and demonstrate professional experience in areas such as system engineering or AI/ML applied to industrial sustainability. Strong programming skills are highly desirable. This position offers a flexible work scope (50% to 100% FTE) and the opportunity to conduct impactful research at an internationally renowned campus university.
