Job Summary

This role involves actively shaping sustainability initiatives within the Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences as part of the TExAS project (Transformation Through Excellence in Applied Sciences). The Sustainability Manager will be responsible for establishing an integrated environmental protection management system and a data-driven reporting system within the newly created Operational Excellence Hub. Day-to-day tasks include developing and implementing the university's sustainability strategy, building a sustainability reporting system in collaboration with experts, ensuring data quality, and critically analyzing and improving existing processes to meet sustainability goals. The ideal candidate holds a degree in Sustainability Management, Environmental Engineering, or a related field, possesses practical knowledge of environmental management systems, and ideally has experience in sustainability reporting or energy consulting. This is a full-time, fixed-term position until March 31, 2030, offering the chance to drive organizational change and actively contribute to climate and environmental protection efforts.

Required Skills

Education

Completed scientific university degree in Sustainability Management, Environmental Engineering, Energy Technology, or comparable field.

Experience

  • Professional experience with methods and tools of (environmental) management systems
  • Experience in sustainability reporting or energy consulting (ideally with a direct implementation focus)
  • Experience working within administrative organizations (ideally contributing to their further development)
