Job Summary
This role involves actively shaping the future of Potsdam by utilizing analytical and strategic skills within the city-wide controlling department. The Administrative Officer will be responsible for systematically evaluating and developing existing controlling instruments, including leading working groups to implement new standards and forms for integrated financial steering. A key focus is initiating the development of new controlling standards, implementing IT-supported controlling systems, and establishing financial reporting standards for the city. Furthermore, the role requires leading an inter-municipal network, analyzing external partnerships, and managing the Controlling Workshop for information exchange. This position is a full-time, fixed-term contract until December 31, 2027, covering parental leave, offering flexible working hours and mobile work options within a public sector environment.
Required Skills
Education
University of Applied Sciences Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Administration and Economics, Certified Administrative Specialist (Verwaltungsfachwirt), or comparable qualification
Experience
- Professional experience in the public sector is desirable
- Minimum 3 years in controlling, budget planning/steering, and risk-oriented steering is desirable
- Experience in managing working groups and leading workshops
- Experience in inter-municipal networking and partnership evaluation
