Job Summary

The City of Offenbach is seeking an IT Network Administrator to join their dedicated team, driving the digital transformation of the municipal administration. This role is crucial for maintaining and optimizing the city's extensive technical infrastructure, which includes over 2,200 workplace systems and a robust server environment. Day-to-day responsibilities involve configuring, managing, and monitoring LAN/WAN and WLAN systems using technologies like Extreme Networks, Cisco, and Unifi. The administrator will also ensure network security, manage central infrastructure services (DNS, DHCP, NTP), and lead network planning projects, including developing concepts for IT procedure expansion (e.g., data center failover, WLAN). The ideal candidate holds a degree in IT or a related field, or a relevant vocational qualification combined with demonstrable professional experience in network administration. Strong knowledge of network technologies, Microsoft/Linux environments, and both German (C1-C2) and English (B2) language skills are essential for success in this impactful public sector role.
