Job Summary

The Information Security Officer will be responsible for managing and developing the information security posture for a major German social insurance institution. This crucial role involves advising executive management and employees on information security matters, developing security strategies, and overseeing the Information Security Management System (ISMS) based on BSI IT-Grundschutz standards. Day-to-day tasks include coordinating the creation and maintenance of security concepts and policies, leading the IT security process, and collaborating closely with data protection officers and internal auditors. The ideal candidate must possess a Master's degree in Computer Science or Business Informatics, coupled with at least three years of relevant professional experience, particularly in coordinating functions within public administration. Success requires deep knowledge of BSI IT-Grundschutz catalogs and standards, experience managing an ISMS, and strong communication skills to handle complex security issues effectively.
