Job Summary

This role involves conducting specialized research within the ERC project "MEGACHEM," focusing on High Energy Density Physics (HEDP). The core responsibility is the investigation of chemical processes under extreme pressure and temperature conditions, aiming to synthesize novel, metastable materials like BC-8 carbon structures and doped nanodiamonds. Day-to-day tasks include designing, executing, and evaluating complex laser-driven dynamic compression experiments, utilizing both the university's internal laser systems and major international facilities such as the European XFEL and ELI Beamlines. The successful candidate must hold a Master's degree or equivalent in Physics, possess strong programming skills, and be proficient in both German and English to facilitate publication and collaboration within international research teams. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge material science research and co-supervise junior scientists.

Experience
