Job Summary

This role seeks a skilled Cloud Engineer to design, implement, and maintain a scalable, secure, and efficient cloud infrastructure for the 'Health + Life Science Alliance Data Space,' a critical inter-institutional platform facilitating data sharing and joint analyses across major biomedical research institutions in the Rhine-Neckar region. The core system will primarily leverage AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, IAM, VPC, RDS). Key responsibilities include developing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation, implementing container orchestration with Kubernetes (EKS) or Docker, and enabling hybrid cloud solutions by integrating AWS with on-premise resources. The ideal candidate possesses a degree in computer science or related field, strong AWS expertise, and experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and ensuring compliance with strict data governance and security frameworks (GDPR, HIPAA).
