Postdoctoral Researcher in Molecular Embryology (Left-Right Asymmetry) | Postdoctoral Researcher – Left-Right Asymmetry in Xenopus and Mouse Development
Deutsches Krebsforschungszentrum
Job Summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join the Division of Molecular Embryology at the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ), focusing on the mechanisms of left-right asymmetry in vertebrate development. The role involves investigating how extracellular signals, shaped by cilia-driven flow, break symmetry and how FGF signaling dynamics encode the left-right vector. The successful candidate will utilize advanced molecular embryology techniques, including advanced imaging, transcriptomics, and embryoid culture, with a project emphasis on either Xenopus or mouse embryology/embryoid research, depending on the applicant's expertise. This three-year, full-time position offers state-of-the-art facilities and international networking within a world-class cancer research environment dedicated to pioneering scientific discovery.
Required Skills
Education
PhD in Developmental Biology
Experience
- Hands-on experience with vertebrate embryology
- Professional experience in scientific research focusing on left-right asymmetry and signaling pathways (e.g., R-Spondin 2, FGF signaling)
Languages
Additional
- Must provide proof of immunity against measles (due to Infection Protection Act regulations). Position is limited to 3 years. Must be available as of June 2026.
