Job Summary

The Technical University of Dresden (TUD), a leading German Excellence University located in Europe's largest microelectronics cluster, 'Silicon Saxony,' is seeking a Research Associate for a project focused on designing high-frequency power amplifier chips. This role involves pioneering the use of open-source IC design tools for millimeter-wave circuits, specifically developing novel, reconfigurable 60 GHz amplifier chips in IHP BiCMOS technology for energy-efficient 6G communication. Day-to-day tasks include researching, designing, analyzing, optimizing, and measuring integrated RF circuit components, focusing on adaptive power amplifiers that allow output power adjustment for massive energy savings, potentially assisted by AI. The associate will also contribute to scientific publications and collaborate with project partners, making this an excellent platform for professional development in cutting-edge communication technology.

Required Skills

Education

Very good or good university degree (Master's level or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Communication Technology, or Information Technology. Doctoral degree (PhD) is helpful.

Experience

  • Research, design, analysis, optimization, implementation, comparison, and measurement of integrated RF circuit components
  • Experience with CAD-IC design tools and circuit simulations
  • Experience with chip layouts is helpful
  • Experience in preparing scientific publications and presenting at conferences
