Job Summary

This is a fixed-term, part-time (50%) Research Associate position focused on a doctoral project within the Chair of Biophysical Chemistry at Saarland University. The core objective is the synthesis and comprehensive spectroscopic characterization of novel fluorescent photoacids, specifically investigating their photochemical and photophysical properties, including proton transfer kinetics and single-molecule dynamics. Candidates must hold a completed scientific university degree in Chemistry and demonstrate strong foundational knowledge in Physical Chemistry, Photochemistry, and Organic Synthesis. Advanced practical experience with spectroscopic measurement techniques, particularly fluorescence and single-molecule spectroscopy, is essential. The role also involves contributing to university teaching and implementing digital learning concepts, requiring an interdisciplinary mindset and a passion for challenging topics in photochemistry.
