Job Summary
This part-time, permanent position at the Institute for Geosciences at Friedrich Schiller University Jena involves providing essential technical support to the Applied Geology department, focusing on environmental processes related to the Litho-, Pedo-, Hydro-, and Biosphere. The successful candidate will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of large analytical instruments, such as Ion Chromatography, including sample preparation, method development, and analytical quality assurance. Day-to-day tasks also include performing routine measurements on smaller devices, data evaluation, report generation, and taking water samples in the field. The role requires a background in physical-chemical technical professions, multi-year professional experience, and strong organizational skills, coupled with proficiency in German (C1) and English (B2). Required Skills
Education
Completed technical vocational training in a physical-chemical field (e.g., Chemical-Technical Assistant, Chemical Laboratory Technician, Physics Laboratory Technician, Biological Laboratory Technician) or equivalent qualifications and experience.
