Job Summary

This is a permanent, part-time (20 hours/week) position as a Technical Assistant within the Institute for Organic and Macromolecular Chemistry at the Friedrich-Schiller-University Jena. The successful candidate will be responsible for the independent synthesis, upscaling, and purification of polymers, organic initiators, and monomers used in cutting-edge research related to life sciences, energy storage, and sustainable materials. Key daily responsibilities include executing controlled and living polymerization techniques, employing purification methods like distillation and chromatography, and utilizing standard analytical tools such as SEC and NMR. The role requires a completed technical vocational training (e.g., Chemical Laboratory Assistant) and excellent knowledge of organic synthesis and polymer chemistry.
