Job Summary

This essential role within the Civil Engineering Department focuses on the monitoring and maintenance of municipal infrastructure, coupled with the management of specialized transport logistics. Day-to-day tasks include conducting visual inspections and walk-throughs of engineering structures, meticulously documenting defects, assessing damage progression, and comparing findings against previous inspection reports. The technician is also responsible for handling procurement processes, which involves market research for necessary inspection equipment, evaluating bidder suitability, and creating awarding notes for price inquiries. Furthermore, the role involves processing applications for heavy and oversized transports (GST) via the VEMAGS portal, verifying routes against municipal structures, developing alternative routes when necessary, and performing structural stability checks for specific infrastructure elements. Candidates must hold a state-certified Technician qualification in Civil Engineering, demonstrate high resilience, cost awareness, and a willingness to occasionally work outside standard hours. The position offers a permanent contract, flexible working times, home office options, and benefits aligned with the TVöD/VKA public sector pay scale (Entgeltgruppe 9a).
