Job Summary

This is a unique opportunity to join the Ansbach University of Applied Sciences as a Professor (W2) specializing in IT Security, starting in October 2026. The role involves representing and developing the field of IT Security, including related areas such as IT Forensics, Cryptography, Web Security, Ethical Hacking, AI Security, and Incident Management, across Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctoral programs. The successful candidate will be responsible for practice-oriented teaching in both German and English, proactive acquisition of third-party funding, and strategic development of competence fields with a focus on digitalization. Key requirements include a relevant university degree (preferably Computer Science or Business Informatics), proven scientific ability (usually demonstrated by a doctorate), pedagogical suitability, and extensive professional experience in IT Security, with at least five years post-graduation experience, including three years outside the university sector. This position offers the chance to shape future academic talent and engage in interdisciplinary research within a modern, well-established institution.

Experience

  • At least 5 years of professional practice post-university degree in applying or developing scientific knowledge and methods
  • At least 3 years of professional practice outside the higher education sector (or equivalent cooperation experience)
