Job Summary

This is a key leadership role as the Head of the Information Technology Division within the Bremen State Statistical Office, responsible for overseeing the entire IT operations (hardware and software) for the agency. The successful candidate will lead a team of five, ensuring smooth IT service delivery, managing the IT budget, and guaranteeing IT security. A significant part of the role involves coordinating the technical preparation and execution of complex, large-scale projects such as state elections and censuses, requiring strong project management and organizational skills. Candidates must possess a degree in Informatics or a related technical field, coupled with substantial practical IT experience in complex environments and proven leadership capabilities. This position offers the opportunity to actively shape the IT landscape of the statistical network and represent Bremen in various federal and state IT committees.

Required Skills

Education

University of Applied Sciences Diploma (FH) or completed Bachelor's degree in Informatics or a related field (e.g., Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering) with an IT focus.

Experience

  • At least three years of practical experience in the IT sector involving tasks of particular difficulty or significance
  • Proven multi-year leadership experience
  • Multi-year experience in practical IT operations management and technical leadership roles within IT operations
