Job Summary

This role involves supporting the successful implementation of the cross-state flood protection project, the Lenzer Wische Controlled Flood Polder, located in Wittenberge, Brandenburg. The Administrative Officer will be crucial in coordinating the joint project office formed by the states of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Lower Saxony, and Brandenburg. Day-to-day tasks include accompanying the development of planning documents, managing the approval process from a technical and nature conservation perspective, preparing tenders, and overseeing construction measures directly on-site. The position requires intensive coordination with local stakeholders, managing land use, and supporting the office management with technical project work and coordination tasks. Required Skills

Education

Successfully completed (Technical) University degree or Bachelor's degree in Water Management, Hydraulic Engineering, or Civil Engineering, or comparable technical studies, or equivalent abilities and experience, or corresponding civil service qualification for the elevated service.

Experience

  • Professional experience in planning and implementing capital flood protection measures (ideally several years)
  • Knowledge in the field of water and dike construction or flood protection
  • Experience in using specialized technical software
  • Experience in working with Geographic Information Systems (GIS)

Languages

German (Fluent)

Additional

  • Valid driver's license (Pkw-Führerschein) and willingness to drive an official vehicle; physical fitness and resilience for fieldwork (in the field, on/in waters, and in all weather conditions).
