Job Summary

This role offers an opportunity to significantly contribute to environmental protection and nature conservation within the State Office for Environment (LfU) in Brandenburg. The Area Technician, based in Trebbin OT Klein Schulzendorf, will be instrumental in organizing water body and facility maintenance across key rivers and canals, including the Nuthe, Nieplitz, Plane, and Emster Canal. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing, managing, and settling accounts for maintenance measures, inspecting and documenting state-owned weirs, flood protection structures, and other facilities, often requiring work in challenging, off-road terrain. The ideal candidate possesses a technical qualification (e.g., Civil Engineering, Water Management) and multiple years of experience in environmental protection, particularly related to water issues. Required Skills

Education

State-certified Technician in a relevant technical field (e.g., Civil Engineering/Deep Construction, Water Engineering, Environmental Protection Technology, or Mechanical Engineering) or equivalent abilities and experience.

Experience

  • Professional experience in environmental protection with a focus on water topics (ideally multiple years)
  • Multiple years of experience in using standard software (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook)
  • Driving experience (Pkw-Führerschein/Car driving license required)

Languages

German (Fluent)

Additional

  • Must possess a valid car driving license (Pkw-Führerschein). Must be physically fit and resilient, prepared to work in rough terrain, near/in water bodies, and in all weather conditions. Must have geographical knowledge of Brandenburg.
