Job Summary

The Bavarian Health and Food Safety Authority (LGL) is seeking a highly qualified Scientist or Molecular Biologist to join the Public Health Microbiology division in Oberschleißheim. This role involves working in an accredited medical diagnostic laboratory (DIN EN ISO 15189) focused on molecular biology, mycobacteriology, and infectious serology, performing microbiological and whole-genome sequencing analyses of infectious agents for public health and correctional facilities. Key responsibilities include contributing to the Bayern Influenza and Corona Sentinels, advancing laboratory automation, conducting PCR and serological analysis, managing epidemiological data, and assisting with outbreak investigations and quality management. The ideal candidate holds a Master's degree or equivalent in Natural Sciences, possesses strong experience in molecular biological methods, lab automation, and working in S2/S3 laboratories, along with excellent IT, organizational, and teamwork skills.
