Job Summary
The Federal Office of Civil Protection and Disaster Assistance (BBK) is seeking a dedicated Technical Officer to join their team in Bonn, focusing on the development and testing of supplementary equipment for disaster response and civil defense. This role is crucial for enhancing Germany's resilience against crises, including military conflicts. Day-to-day tasks involve identifying necessary development and testing requirements for specialized equipment, coordinating technical and tactical trials, and conducting rigorous, real-world testing of vehicles and machinery across various terrains and weather conditions. The officer will also manage budgetary and contractual documentation for procurement projects and act as the testing lead within larger procurement initiatives. Candidates must possess a technical university degree (Bachelor/Diplom-Ingenieur FH) or equivalent civil service qualification, coupled with relevant experience in civil protection or emergency services. The role requires strong organizational skills, physical fitness for outdoor testing, and a willingness to undergo an extended security clearance.

Experience
- Professional experience in civil protection, disaster relief, fire services, or military organizations (e.g., THW, Federal Armed Forces)
- Experience in working with new technical challenges and assuming responsibility

- Willingness to undergo an extended security clearance; Willingness to participate in the BBK's crisis organization; Physical fitness for practical testing tasks in various weather and terrain conditions (e.g., sure-footedness, ability to lift heavy loads, wear protective gear); Possession of a Class B driving license, ideally Class CE, or willingness to acquire it promptly; Willingness to undertake frequent business trips; Willingness to work outside of standard hours when required.
