Job Summary

As an IT Incident and Process Manager at Germany's Federal Office for Information Security (BSI), you will play a critical role in safeguarding the nation's digital infrastructure. Working within the National IT Situation Center, your daily responsibilities include monitoring the current IT security landscape, processing incident reports from critical infrastructure sectors like energy and waste management, and providing expert recommendations for action. You will be responsible for developing and evaluating operational processes, defining requirements for automated IT systems, and managing knowledge transfers across departments. This role is unique as it offers a position of high societal impact, allowing you to directly contribute to the resilience of Germany's critical infrastructure while working in a secure, public-sector environment with flexible mobile working options and a dedicated monthly allowance.

Required Skills

Education

Bachelor's degree or FH Diploma in Computer Science, Technical Computer Science, IT Security, Administrative Informatics, Business Informatics, or a comparable IT-focused field.

Experience

  • At least 3 years of professional experience in a Situation Center or Security Operations Center (SOC)
  • Professional experience in creating and evaluating the effectiveness of processes and knowledge management measures
  • Experience in incident management and reporting structures
  • Experience in conceptual work and process design best practices

Additional

  • Must be willing to undergo an extended security clearance (SÜG § 9). Includes on-call shifts for incident processing. Requires willingness for occasional business travel. Location: Bonn, Germany.
