Job Summary

This role involves supporting the central Microfabrication and Microfluidics Core Facility (µFLuCF) at Heidelberg University, focusing on the production of advanced microfluidic systems, including Organ-on-Chip platforms and devices for immune cell sorting. The Technical Assistant will be responsible for hands-on laboratory work, including sample preparation in an ISO Class 5 cleanroom, performing photolithography and soft lithography (coating wafers, exposure, development), and utilizing 3D design and printing for microfluidic devices. A key component of the job is drafting Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and supervising junior academic staff. The ideal candidate possesses a background in biotechnology or chemistry, experience with cleanroom practices, and proficiency in 3D design software like AutoCAD Inventor, coupled with strong German and English communication skills.

Completed vocational training as a BTA (Biological Technical Assistant) or CTA (Chemical Technical Assistant) or equivalent qualifications

Experience
