Job Summary

This role involves leading and coordinating research and science communication for the STRUCTURES Cluster of Excellence, focusing heavily on the final report coordination, requiring both technical and editorial responsibility. The successful candidate will implement the science communication strategy, which includes developing and executing targeted measures to present research findings effectively. Key tasks involve visual communication, requiring expertise in conceiving and programming visual representations, alongside technical web development and content maintenance. The position also demands enhancing international visibility through research events, managing publication and transfer projects, supporting grant applications, and integrating communication into university structures. Candidates must possess a scientific university degree in Physics, Mathematics, or Computer Science, coupled with expertise in strategic science communication, Visual Computing, and specific IT skills like Python, Web programming, and desktop publishing tools.

Required Skills

Education

University degree in Physics, Mathematics, or Computer Science, preferably with a focus on interdisciplinary work at the interfaces of Physics, Computer Science, and Mathematics

Experience

  • Professional experience in strategic science communication and its application in interdisciplinary, international research projects
  • Experience in project management methods (quantitative and qualitative evaluation)
  • Expertise in third-party funding acquisition (Drittmittelakquise)
  • Experience in international network building and inter-cultural communication in a scientific environment
