Job Summary
This role seeks a highly motivated and proactive Scientific Researcher to drive cutting-edge metabolomics projects at the Metabolomics Core Technology Platform (MCTP) in Heidelberg. The researcher will be responsible for leading and supporting collaborative metabolomics projects with top research groups, primarily within the Medical Faculty. Key responsibilities include developing and optimizing innovative LC-MS and GC-MS methods for analyzing diverse biological matrices, including human samples. The successful candidate will also serve as a crucial scientific contact, advising users on experimental design, sample preparation, and data interpretation, while contributing to scientific publications and grant applications. This position is ideal for a scientist with a PhD in a relevant natural science discipline and hands-on experience in mass spectrometry and chromatography who enjoys working in a service-oriented, interdisciplinary environment with real-world impact on biomedical and translational research.
Required Skills
Education
PhD degree in analytical chemistry, biological or food chemistry, biochemistry, biotechnology, pharmacy, or a comparable natural science discipline
Experience
- Hands-on experience and knowledge in mass spectrometry and chromatography
- Strong motivation to interact with and support collaborators in a service-oriented environment
- Experience in scientific publishing is welcome
- Experience in a core facility, service laboratory or similar user-oriented setting is an advantage

- The position is full-time (39.5 h/week) and limited until December 31, 2029. Must be able to work in Heidelberg, Germany.
