Job Summary

The Service Center for Rural Development and Agricultural Funding (SLA) is seeking two GIS Developers to join their Department D, which focuses on developing diverse, partially geo-based, software products. In this role, you will be crucial in realizing and continuously developing a cross-state application for the end-to-end processing of Rural Land Consolidation procedures under the Land Consolidation Act. Day-to-day tasks include programming, creating automated tests, refactoring, documentation, and participating in federal technical working groups and requirements analysis. The ideal candidate possesses a Bachelor's degree in (Geo-, Administrative, Business) Informatics or a related IT field, coupled with very strong programming skills in GIS system development. Proficiency in Python, PostgreSQL, and QGIS is required, along with excellent German language skills (C1 level). This permanent position offers varied challenges, flexible working hours, home office options, and a long-term perspective within the State of Lower Saxony.

Required Skills

Education

Bachelor's/Diploma degree (FH) in (Geo-, Administrative, Business) Informatics or another IT-related subject, or equivalent abilities and experience acquired in practice.

Experience

  • Professional experience in developing GIS systems
  • Experience in all development activities (Programming, Testing, Documentation, etc.)
  • Experience participating in nationwide technical working groups
  • Knowledge of the process of Land Consolidation procedures (Ideally)
  • Knowledge of the official Real Estate Cadastre (Ideally)

Additional

  • Must demonstrate strong interest in Information Security and Data Protection. Must possess safe command of the German language, written and spoken, at a minimum C1 level.
