Job Summary

The Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU) is seeking a skilled Electrician to join the High Voltage Systems team (G3.1) responsible for the operation, maintenance, and inspection of critical electrical infrastructure across the university grounds. Day-to-day tasks include servicing high-voltage supply systems, such as substations (20/0.4 kV), medium-voltage switchgear (20 kV), and low-voltage systems (400 V), along with associated protection technology. The role also involves maintaining emergency power generators, UPS systems, photovoltaic installations, and e-charging stations. A key responsibility is managing lighting systems, including KNX controls and safety lighting, and participating in an on-call rotation. The ideal candidate holds a relevant 3.5-year electrical apprenticeship, possesses professional experience in operating and maintaining building power supply systems, and demonstrates strong teamwork and communication skills. This is initially a fixed-term contract with the potential for permanent employment, offering public sector benefits and flexible working hours.

  • Professional experience in the operation and maintenance of electrotechnical systems for building and area power supply (desirable)
