Job Summary

The Diocese of Speyer is seeking an engaged Climate Protection Manager to drive sustainable and climate-friendly initiatives. This role is crucial for developing and implementing the diocesan climate protection concept, focusing on energy, mobility, procurement, IT infrastructure, and real estate. Day-to-day responsibilities include creating energy and greenhouse gas balances, managing projects, coordinating tasks across departments, and organizing internal workshops and public relations efforts. The ideal candidate holds a degree in environmental engineering, energy technology, or a related field, possesses comprehensive experience in climate protection and sustainability management, and has proven skills in project development and steering. This position, initially limited to two years and funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, offers the opportunity to apply specialized expertise within a values-oriented, ecclesiastical structure.

Required Skills

Education

University degree (or equivalent qualification) in Environmental Engineering, Energy and Environmental Technology, Supply/Building Technology, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or Environmental and Sustainability Science.

Experience

  • Comprehensive professional experience in climate protection, energy, and environmental management, and sustainability
