Doctoral Researcher in Molecular Microbiology and Infection Immunology | Doktorand (m/w/d)
Universitätsklinikum Erlangen AöR
Job Summary
This role is a unique opportunity for a highly motivated Doctoral Researcher to investigate the complex interactions between the immune system, gastrointestinal pathogens (specifically Salmonella), and the intestinal microbiota, focusing on chronic inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) and infectious colitis. The researcher will utilize both human systems and mouse models to identify virulence factors and elucidate the molecular mechanisms governing infection susceptibility and inflammation development. Key daily tasks involve performing RNA and protein expression analyses, flow cytometry, microscopy, cell transfer experiments, and applying molecular genetic and bioinformatic methods, including single-cell sequencing. The ideal candidate holds a strong Master's degree in a relevant life science field and is prepared to work with mouse models, contributing to a structured doctoral training program funded by IZKF Erlangen.
