Job Summary

This role involves managing diverse civil engineering projects for the Federal Government in North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW), working within the state's property and real estate management company (BLB NRW). The Civil Engineer will oversee the full spectrum of underground construction, including earthworks for utility systems, renewal of sewage and rainwater networks, road construction, and external facilities. Day-to-day tasks include managing large and small projects, conducting procurement processes for specialized firms, ensuring quality control, and performing active contract and claim management. You will steer external specialist planners or independently handle planning phases 1 through 9 (HOAI) for new construction, renovation, and infrastructure measures. The ideal candidate holds a degree in Civil Engineering, preferably specializing in Deep Construction or Landscape Architecture, or is a certified construction technician with significant relevant professional experience.
