Job Summary

The Research Associate will join the Institute for Forest Protection in Quedlinburg to contribute to the "LitterLinks2" project, focusing on strengthening forest resilience through scientific analysis. Day-to-day tasks involve the independent planning and execution of sampling, taxonomic identification of soil fauna (ideally to species level), and utilizing isotope-based procedures, including component-specific amino acid analyses. The role requires evaluating and modeling structural and functional changes in soil food webs using quantitative and ecological analysis methods, alongside data management, statistical analysis using R, and preparing scientific publications. This position is ideal for candidates with a Master's degree in Ecology or a related field, strong interest in arthropods and soil ecology, and experience in taxonomic identification. The role offers the opportunity for a PhD and participation in a large-scale, long-term research platform (Biodiversity Exploratories) in an international working environment.
