Job Summary

This role involves serving as a Scientific Researcher within the FAIRagro consortium, a National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI) initiative focused on Agrosystem research data management. The successful candidate will implement research, development, and data management activities for Use Case 3, specifically focusing on streamlining Pest and Disease Data to advance Integrated Pest Management (IPM). Key responsibilities include developing guidelines for comparable yield loss experiments, creating a metadata inventory for IPM data in collaboration with IT experts, and developing frameworks for integrating Pest & Disease, Agroecosystem, and Plant Growth models to assess pest control strategies at the field level in Germany. The position requires a Master's degree in a relevant scientific field (e.g., Biology, Agricultural, or Environmental Sciences), expertise in IPM and crop cultivation, and strong communication skills in both German and English for presentations and publications.

Required Skills

Education

Master's degree, University Diploma, or comparable qualification in Biology, Agricultural Sciences, Horticulture, Environmental Sciences, or a comparable discipline

Experience

  • Knowledge and preferably experience in research data management
  • Experience in handling large datasets
  • Expertise and strong interest in modeling plant growth, yield formation, pests, and their damage effects

Additional
