Job Summary

The Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics (IPP) is seeking a dedicated Head of Facility Management to lead a key group within the Facility Management department in Garching near Munich. This pivotal role involves the disciplinary and technical leadership of a 20-person team covering Technical, Infrastructural, and Commercial Facility Management. The successful candidate will be responsible for the operational infrastructure, maintenance, and modernization of approximately 65 buildings, associated traffic areas, and green spaces on campus. Key responsibilities include ensuring the legally compliant operation of technical systems, optimizing internal processes, and managing the real estate portfolio, including budgeting and lease agreements. Candidates must hold a degree in Engineering (Electrical, HVAC, Facility Management, or Industrial Engineering), possess extensive professional experience in strategic FM planning, and demonstrate fluent German and English skills.
