Job Summary

The Technical University of Dresden (TUD) is seeking a highly organized and safety-conscious Chemical-Technical Assistant to support research and teaching activities within the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Institute of Process Engineering and Environmental Technology. This role involves the preparation, execution, and analysis of chemical and physical experiments, including operating and maintaining advanced laboratory equipment such as HPLC, GCMS, UV-vis, and titration devices. Key responsibilities include meticulous documentation of results, developing and optimizing experimental methods, and managing laboratory operations, including procurement and hazardous material disposal. The successful candidate will also instruct and support students during practical lab sessions, ensuring strict adherence to safety and quality standards. This is a permanent, part-time position (50% weekly hours) requiring a background as a Chemical-Technical Assistant and strong analytical skills.

Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training as a Chemical-Technical Assistant or comparable qualification

Experience

  • Completed vocational training as a Chemical-Technical Assistant or equivalent qualification
  • Professional experience in a university, research, or educational laboratory (Ideally)
  • Experience in handling common laboratory and analytical methods
  • Experience with electronic laboratory notebooks or Laboratory Information Systems (LIMS) (Desired)
