Job Summary

This is a fixed-term Research Associate position at the TU Dresden, focusing on an interregional research project (SFB/Transregio 285) dedicated to developing mechanical joinability methods in adaptable process chains. The core responsibility involves the advanced development of a clinching system, integrating laser technology for variable thermal pre-treatment to expand the process window. Day-to-day tasks include setting up, executing, and verifying process simulations, specifically analyzing thermal influences, and varying process parameters using Design of Experiments (DoE). The goal is to collaborate with industrial and academic partners to translate findings into a design strategy for adaptable joining properties, particularly concerning the electrical conductivity of the connection for industrial application. Candidates must possess a strong academic background in engineering, excellent simulation skills (preferably LS-DYNA), and high levels of self-motivation and teamwork.
