Job Summary

The Max Rubner Institute, a federal research and consulting organization focused on nutrition and food, is seeking an IT Server Administrator to join their Systems Team. This role involves the comprehensive administration and support of the institute's server infrastructure, including Windows and Linux environments, and critical services like DHCP, DNS, and Active Directory. A key responsibility is managing the virtualized environment using technologies like vSphere and Proxmox, as well as maintaining data center infrastructure (Storage, SAN, Rack Management). The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with IT security standards, such as BSI Cert notifications, and maintain thorough infrastructure documentation. Candidates should have a background in System Integration or equivalent IT experience, knowledge of networking, and strong German language skills. This is a full-time, permanent position offering flexible work arrangements and the opportunity to contribute to a vital scientific network across one of four locations (Karlsruhe, Kiel, Detmold, or Kulmbach).
