Job Summary

This role seeks a highly motivated PhD Student to join the Translational Research Unit – Infectious Diseases (TRUID) at the University Hospital of Cologne. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and applying sophisticated bioinformatic pipelines to analyze multi-omics datasets, including bulk and single-cell transcriptomics, proteomics, and epigenomic data. A core function involves integrating these multi-layered datasets and performing statistical and computational modeling to dissect regulatory pathways in immunity and infection, ultimately identifying molecular signatures and biomarkers. Key requirements include a Master’s degree in Bioinformatics or a related field, strong proficiency in R programming, and experience with RNA-seq data analysis. Required Skills

Experience

  • Experience with HPC environments, Linux/Unix, and reproducible research practices
  • Prior biological background (advantageous but not required)
